Assistant or Associate Professor in Sustainability - Nantes (position ref OSE26-SUST)
Audencia (www.audencia.com) invites applications for a position as Assistant or Associate Professor in Sustainability in the Organization Studies & Ethics (OSE) department. This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Nantes campuses, with an expected start date of September 1, 2026.
Position requirements
We are looking for applicants specialized in sustainability, corporate social responsibility and/or earth science and systems in terms of both research and teaching. Applicants should hold a Ph.D.
In accordance with our programs and in line with our school strategic axes, we particularly welcome applicants whose scientific and pedagogical activities are multidisciplinary, in addition to the above-mentioned subjects and are related with the contemporary economic, technological, environmental, social or (geo)-political challenges of today's world.
Applicants should have experience publishing in high-impact peer-reviewed international journals. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active publication record, to attract research funding and to make significant contributions to the scientific community and to society through her/his scholarship.
The successful applicant is expected to have the ability to teach effectively a range of undergraduate and graduate courses such as Transitioning to Environmental Impact Strategies, Ecological and Social Transitions, New Social and Economic Models, Grand Challenges among others. The teaching is in French and English.
The successful applicants will notably be asked to coordinate a pre-master course on Introduction to Ecological and Social Transition.
Position overview
The new faculty member will join our OSE (Organization Studies & Ethics) department, consisting of 31 core faculty members. The research and pedagogy axes of the department encompass a wide range of topics and have an interdisciplinary outlook grouped into the expertise areas such as Sustainability, CSR and Ethics; Organization Studies; Human Resource Management; Organizational Behavior. We are committed to studying socio-political, economic, and environmental developments contributing to a sustainable future for individuals, organizations, and society. We conduct engaged and impactful research at the individual (employee, leader, manager), organizational (start-up, large companies and SMEs), and inter-organizational (networks, supply chains, ecosystems, stakeholder) levels that enhances scholarship and practice.
Our recent publications include articles in leading academic journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Academy of Management Perspectives, Academy of Management Review, American Journal of Sociology, American Sociological Review, Human Relations, Human Resource Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, Gender Work and Organization, Journal of Business Venturing and British Journal of Management among others.
The department manages several programs such as MS Actor for Ecological Transition, MSc in International Management & Business, MSc in Management for Sustainable Business, MSc in Public Policy & International Cooperation, MSc in Human Resource Management and People Development.
Salary is negotiable and commensurate with potential and experience.
